Monsignor Gianfranco Girotti, the head of the Apostolic Penitentiary, told the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano in an interview published Sunday that the media coverage of the sex scandals within the church must be denounced because it “discredit’s the Church”.

Never has a Church Clergy been so correct!!!!! All those snot nosed kids should learn how to keep their mouth’s shut (no pun intended)!!! If it were not for all of them complaining about having sex with a priest the Church would never have been “discredited”. And SHAME on the media for reporting the sexual abuse of a child by a Clergy. This type of reporting is unacceptable. The reporters that brought this to the public’s attention should be banned from working in the media forever and ever, amen. On the other hand the Clergy who abused the children should be given a boost up the corporate ladder of GOD’s church and promoted to the Vatican as a papal assistant in charge of controlling the sexual urges of the youth.

NOTE: I am a Catholic. I go to mass every now and then, but I go much less now than before the scandals. I now give to my community in ways not connected to the church. My hard earned money will not pay for a Priest to have sex with a child. I still do not understand why the Vatican with its own treasury cannot pay the damages caused by its Priests. To say that a parish is bankrupt is to lie to the membership. If the church is part of the Roman Catholic Church and under the rule of the Pope then it has money.
