Celebrating quitting smoking through running as fast as I can

By bicycle tire is flat. It kept doing that. Instead of buying another tube and perhaps a tire, I decided to try running. I even purchased matching sweatpants and sweatshirt. I’m yet to try that costume out.
I had hoped to run every day, but my knees are bothering me too much some days. It could be because of the weather. My knees always have bothered me off and on – especially when the seasons change.
I tried running before, when I was in college and had access to a track made of brown, squishy plastic. I quit after a couple week or so because my knees were bothering me.
But then again, after I started walking a lot every day while living in London – taking the Tube, buses, feet – my knees stopped hurting. It’s like they built up the strength and appreciation of being used for what they were made.
I want to pursue running because one can do it anywhere. Also, I want to build up my endurance. The first bridge to cross is preventing the heart and chest getting fired up so much that one must stop because the system can’t take it.
I suppose another reason I want to run is because I haven’t smoked a cigarette in four weeks or so. Previously, I attributed part of the reason for an achy chest to smoking. So perhaps in breaking free of the smoking addiction, I’m trying to celebrate by running as fast as I can.
