Celebrity overdrive
posted November 21, 2006 - 3:42pmIt's about time that the public woke up and took a stand against people like O.J. Simpson going on television to make a mockery out of his botched murder case. It shows how much of mess the California legal system is when a former celebrity is accused of murdering his ex-wife, and instead of convicting him when the evidence is clearly pointing his way, he is found innocent. Sadly, it doesn't end there. He moves to the state of Florida, and makes his money making appearances at sports shows, and also tries to sell his own version of Punk'd DVD series called Juice'd.
Now he attemped to release a book and conducting an interview on the FOX network about his murder case over ten years ago. Sadly, it took major public outrage to push a network like FOX, who is known to brodcast such low class programming such as Bill O'Reilly, to back down from showing the interview.
The American public needs a flame lit underneath them and getting further involved with what kinds of things are shared with the public on television. Major networks like FOX often broadcast whatever they feel will get ratings, and rarely consider what the public thinks.
If public opinions like this continues, maybe FOX will lead a crusade to get its act together and actually report real news for a change.
