Most see airport security as a pain. But, when you watch this video clip, you'll understand why you may get asked to test your cell phone at the airport and put it through the x-ray machine.

Cell phone guns have arrived. They are real.

The video clip shows how cell phone guns operate. At first sight it looks like a regular cell phone same size, same shape, same overall appearance. But beneath the digital face lies a .22-caliber pistol, a phone gun capable of firing four rounds in quick succession with a touch of the otherwise standard keypad. The "antennae" of the gutted phones function as gun barrels and numbers 5 through 8 on the keypad as triggers. Only when you have one in your hand do you realize that they are heavier than a regular cell phone.

Though they are the subject of security alerts in the U.S., they haven't made their way to North America yet, having been mostly been confiscated in Western Europe, stunning law enforcement officials by the discovery of these deadly decoys.
They say phone guns are changing the rules of engagement in Europe.

So, be patient if security asks to look at your cell phone or turn it on to show that it works. They have a good reason!
