Centipedes and St. Croix View Video on the Poisonous Creature Eating a Mouse
posted November 23, 2007 - 12:38pmIn tropical islands such as St. Croix, Virgin Islands, centipedes are uninvited visitors to your homes. Tropical Centipedes are very large in size with some almost a foot long.
These carnivorous predators capture their prey by biting them with their poisonous fangs and paralyzing them. Centipedes usually come out at night and move very quickly hunting for frogs, mice and lizards.
Centipedes will bite humans and their poisonous venomous bites can be very painful, but usually not fatal. They will crawl into your homes and scare the day lights out of you with their creepy crawling movements. If you are a visitor it’s usually good to stay as far away from them as possible, it is not like looking for worms.
