The Chi Lin is a heavenly creature with body of a horse and head of a Dragon said to be the guardian of the heavenly gates. It has carp like scales on its body and a tail consisting of little curls. The Chi Lin is also believed to be the lord of all hairy creatures. The Chi Lin is regarded by Buddhists to carry the civilizing Book of Law on its back. The other names of this mythical animal are Qi Lin, Kei Loon, Dragon Horse or Chinese Unicorn.
