Chic Mom's Guide to Weight, and Fashion Issues
posted March 11, 2009 - 5:54pmAs mothers', grandmas' and gracefully aging women, we sometimes through life will happen to encounter troubled areas with our bodies. As time progresses forward so does the evolving natural aging process that takes place. Not only with our face but with the changing form of our bodies.
In addition, keeping up with the times and our ever changing appearance will usually always keep us learning, and improving on ourselves, in order to look as good as we can.
Being Overweight
The thing about gaining weight is that our clothes end up to small. If our bodies tend to fluctuate between sizes than that can leave a little confusion as to what to wear and what not to wear. In order to look good, without showing off the bulge, or cellulite.
Intimate Apparel
Hit the Intimate apparel section in your favorite clothing store and take a look at Body Briefs and other intimate apparel that will reshape your body. If you have bulge and cellulite issues then pick up a couple Firm Control, Diet-trim Briefer s, and Dr. Ray's Shapewear. It will have you feeling great and looking so good in your clothes. It appears as though you have lost at least five, or 10 pounds when you wear the body shaper. The illusion is great. People notice how good you look.
The thing I like the most about wearing the body shaper is that it reminds me to use my stomach muscles. So I am pulling in my gut more often. The snug fit of the undergarment helps with posture as well because it is pulling everything in firmly. So you're more out to stand straighter and pull in your stomach.
We forget about using are stomach muscles after having a few kids. The body shaper reminds you just by being so snug.. It also might be a reminder to slow down on the eating because you probably don't want to spend the rest of your life wearing undergarment body suits; if you can lose the weight instead. But they sure are great for wearing while being overweight.
I wear a Diet Trim Briefer that I got at Sears recently. It sort of reminds me of Madonna's outfit she wore on stage in the 80's; minus the Go Go Girl pasties. The diet trim briefer I have resembles a black one piece bikini and would likely have been seen as beach attire in the 40's. It works great under your clothes for the re slimming sort look.
Don't forget to get one for the thigh area and buttocks if you are overweight, have cellulite. Slacks are perfect over wear for these undergarments.
If your problem area isn't in both areas but in one, or the other than purchase Dr. Rey's Shapewear for that particular area. For me I need as much help as I can get to look thinner and more appealing while being over weight. When age hits us we have to recollect our marbles to keep them together. Something goes running off one way and something else another way; well we have to try to get it back the best way we can, and body shapers really help.
Outer Clothing for Appeal
We feel good when we have nice comfortable clothes to wear that are stylish and catch peoples eye. What can get in the way to often is worrying about weight. It can leave many of us wearing black to often. Black isn't the only option there is for looking slender. Let your aura shine forth by choosing to add color that compliments your natural appearance.
Your skin tone next to a beautiful color can help you look younger. If you have color in your eyes then try wearing blue or green which ever matches your eye color more. If you look good in dark colors then wear brighter colors more often instead of light colors. Let your being shine forth. If your skin color is tan or darker then wear lighter colors or colors that compliment your skin.
If your favorite color is pink put it on. It doesn't matter how old you are. You are never to old for pink. Mature women wear pink and look great in it. It is a color of romance anyways. Red is bright, bold and a passionate color. White brings out a look of pureness, dignity and grace. Add some gold or silver to the colors in your accessories.
Remember not to wear clothes that don't fit right. If you have clothing that is to tight, to baggy then bag it up. Put them away, or get rid of them.
If your body tends to fluctuate between sizes like mine does then you might want to save those clothes just in case you lose or gain weight again and need that size.
Some questions you will want to ask yourself:
-What color do I look good wearing?
-Is it light, or dark colors?
And go with that, along with the rest of the information for the best and most fashionable chic look; that will keep you looking amazing all year long.
