China: All About Gold

China: All About Gold

As if it weren't enough that most of the material goods utilized in the US came from China, the highest achievement in athletics and most rigorous training methods for athletes may have to be shipped in as well, because China has won the majority of its events in Gold. They wear it on their uniforms in small accents and snippets of color here and there but most of all they yearn for that and nothing matters to their government, and it is the only prize for their Olympiads. So maybe we need to hand it to them for getting the most of what every other country wants on and off the field, throughout the Olympics and beyond: as much Gold as they can possibly keep in their homeland.

Some may say that their methods of raising so many winning athletes are less than Gold, but the amount of Gold they hold distracts the rest of us, and the gleam alone causes the average eyes to have to look away to save their retinas. It seems as if China had been expecting to be the most winning nation from the very start of the ceremonies and throughout the competitions. The breadth and grandiosity of the ceremonies was like a staunch declaration to the rest of the world that they are in Gold country, that whatever technology and secrets every other nation
may put into the training of their athletes, Chinese athletes are the highest form of technology and will execute their custom programming to be the absolute best!

Like many aspects of a nation's prosperity athletics are there to represent a sovereignty and independence wherein a culture can flourish and is surely benefiting from their ideas as they have the time to express themselves in more and more ways. Here, the Olympics are China's big way of expressing how much of a force they really are, how much depth their culture can pool from, and that regardless of the playing field, old or new, they can still teach others a thing or two. In this sense, China is making an even bigger name for itself on the main stage, of which it has built a large portion, has now taken the leading and many of the supporting roles, and is soon to own the production company once the director finalizes the credits. All in all, they are not just winning the most Gold, but are starting to come across as the golden nation, in the global market place, in other worldly arenas, and soon from all of our cultural lenses. Not only shall China's Olympic legacy at this point be quite memorable for some time to come, but if they continue to win as they have, they may claim their place today as the sole leader paving the way, on a golden road into the future.
