Chipotle, Folsom, California

Chipotle is one of the most popular fast-food Mexican food restaurants in Folsom and there are a lot of good reason for the popularity.

I’d like to say that Chipotle is one of the best-kept secrets in Folsom, but it’s not. From Folsom to Boston to the Florida Keys, Chipotle has become a major part of the American fast-food palate. The good news is we have a number of them in Sacramento, including the one on East Bidwell adjacent to Albertson’s (or soon-to-be Save-Mart) Market. Franchised through the McDonalds Corporation, Chipotle has the fresh food preparation system down pat.

Chipotle offers Burritos, Burrito Bowls, Salads, Tacos and Quesadillas (even though they are not on the menu). All are prepared with your choice of meat or no meat, plus all types of extras including black or pinto beans, rice, four types of salsa, sour cream, cheese and of course guacamole. If you would like meat, the choices include grilled chicken, marinated steak, carnitas (pork), and a spicy shredded beef called Barbacoa. The burritos themselves are huge and all of the food is made with your supervision at the prep counter.

My wife and I often split a burrito, have some of Chipotle’s fresh made lime sprayed chips with guacamole and wash this down with two of best margaritas you’ll find in Folsom, especially for the price. Even though Chipotle is now well known, the margaritas may still be one of the best-kept secrets. Especially when they are $3.50 for an eight-ounce delicious beverage made with Jose Cuervo Tequila.

Chipotle offers indoor and outdoor dining. The dining room can be a little cold and definitely noisy from the hard acoustics. But Chipotle offers an interesting selection of music in all of their stores and the outdoor patio in our Folsom Store is much more pleasant and is covered, so even in the hot summer, you can enjoy your time outside. Chipotle is a great place for all age groups and sizes. It is clean, fresh, fast and very affordable.
