The Christmas Diet | ALSO How to Lose Weight after Quitting Smoking

When it goes cold in Autumn (also known as Fall in North America) we stop being active, eat more comfort food and, as a consequence, we pile on the weight. Things are even worse if you’ve given up smoking!

Did you know that some women – particularly of a certain age – can put on 3 stone (42 pounds) in 3 months given the aforementioned conditions? Well they can and we in the AndAnotherThing2 office have watched it happen to one of our number – mentioning no names (Sally Pemberton).

People in this position or those lucky ***** [CENSORED] who want to lose a few pounds so they can put it on again when indulging in Christmas feasts – should employ the following tips:

  1. Eat breakfast – a healthy breakfast even if it is forced down will kick start your metabolism
  2. Drink plenty of water – good for skin, hair and kidneys but also reduces hunger
  3. Eat variety – enjoy new foods every week
  4. Eat meals which are 40-50% made up of protein and the remainder should be good complex carbohydrates known as vegetables
  5. Eat good fats only – get rid of butter, lard and cheese as much as possible from your diet – these can be replaced with good fats such as olive and hemp oils
  6. Exercise three times a week minimumREAD THIS TO FIND A CHEAT EXERCISE !
  7. Make time for food – eating standing up while you graze the fridge should be outlawed
  8. Give savings you make on food to someone who actually needs it – charity can benefit YOU and the recipient – you’ll feel better about yourself and this will have further knock on effects
