Claim to Shame
posted November 2, 2006 - 2:41pmI was watching a 2 hour Dateline NBC special on the USA Network tonight. I love that show. Chris Hansen's little quips and one liners when he comes out from hiding just crack me up.
"What...no hug for me?" he asks one pervert.
"How are those
strawberries?" He asked another.
And I also love when he reads the transcripts of the chat session back for these guys. "I want to stick my blank in your blank and make you blank until you can't blank anymore." Now there is some com-e-dy. It kinda sounds like the conversation I had with Diana on our wedding night.
I think NBC is providing a double-edged sword with these exposes, though. It's great that they expose and even exploit these sick perverts. Maybe it'll cut down on the number of guys who try to prey on young girls...or boys for that matter. On the other hand, it shows these creeps in a different light. Watching some of these guys break down isn't doing a great service to the community. By showing their emotional side, a lot of viewers might actually feel sorry for these guys. They show the guys crying and talking about how their life is ruined...and even though it's their own fault...I can hear the bleeding hearts saying, "Oh..they just made a simple mistake. It's okay." These are the same people that will call the perverts "pedophiles" instead of "child molester." The word "pedophile" has a less negative connotation to it than "child molester." The societal view of their perversion is slowly changing to a view of being a sickness..or a disease - something they can't help. And once that happens...our kids are in trouble.
But anyway..the point of this blog. They were going over the numbers of predators that they've captured so far - 179 in two years. That's pretty impressive. Get those scum off the streets for awhile. Let them be the prey in the jails for a change. Fifty-one of the 179 predators came from Riverside County....which is not only in southern California...but it is actually the county that I'm living in now. So let me say...YAY!! Our claim to fame is that we've had more sexual predators captured through Dateline NBC than any other area in the United States so far. I'm not bragging, though. I mean, they've even done this sting in Ohio...and we know how many screwed up people live there.
