Cloning is ethical
posted November 13, 2008 - 2:48amMy beloved dog Rocky has been a loyal companion for years.Recently though Rocky is showing signs of old age ,and i realize that my friend's days are numbered. I can't bear the thought of living without him,so i contact a biotechnology company that advertises pet cloning services. For a fee, this company will clone Rocky using DNA sample of his somatic cells.I am obviously thrilled . I'll never have the fear of losing my pal.The possibility of genetically engineered human clone is in the air and it seems to be the futuristic idea happening in our life time.As the modern world is marching towards the new scientific era the desire of human beings to become immortal is getting stronger. This search for supremacy over nature has initiated an urge in human beings to replicate God's best creation, that is human beings. And this creation has culminated the process of cloning.Cloning refers to the process of production of many genetically identical copies of an individual by asexual production. In principle cloning has two main goals-therapeutic cloning which aims to use the technique of cloning to repair damaged tissues and disease -ravaged organs' while reproductive cloning seeks to triumph over death by recreating a loved one .No kidding! Cloning would produce spare parts for humans.perhaps the day is not far away when the god,s will assemble to discuss whether man needed them anymore or should peacefully retire. quoting the words of Ian Wilnut "Cloning promises such benefits that it would be immoral NOT to do it
