Obesity is occurring at younger ages than ever before. Nearly one-third of nation's children are overweight at risk of becoming overweight.
Children are overfed, but undernourished. High fat content McMeals have become standard dinners for families on the go.
Lack of exercise in schools and at home is also a contributing factor to childhood obesity. Combat childhood obesity by making fruits and veggies readily available for your children to eat instead of high calorie / low nutrition snacks. Encourage healthier eating habits and help your children become more active by limiting TV time and computer time.
Get outside with your children, go for a walk, toss a ball, ride a bike. Not only will you be combating childhood obesity, but it will be time well spent bonding with your children.
