Competitive Eating
posted August 16, 2006 - 1:28amWhat is the deal with eating contests? Japan's Takeru Kobayashi was once again crowned "hot dog eating champion" this year in Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Contest. He ate just under 54 hotdogs (including the buns) in about 12 minutes. The 113 pound Kobayashi, or "Koby" as his fans call him, overcame a two hot dog deficit in the last two minutes of the heated, nitrate-laced contest to clinch the victory in front of a roaring audience of 30,000. Yes, 30,000 people turned out to this thing. Truly amazing.

I can't read that first line
I can't read that first line without thinking of Seinfeld saying it, hahaha. It's funny too that they call him Koby...makes me think of Kirby, the little pink balloon creature who sucks up food like it's his job. Coincidence? Hehe.
I just think its funny cause
I just think its funny cause of the fact of how much press this event is getting. For example I saw the new Will Ferall movie tonight Talladega Nights and they even mentioned Takeru. Truly amazing.
