If you are using an older version of MS Office you may soon find yourself in the position of receiving an office document you cannot open. This is because Microsoft introduced new document extensions as part of the MS Office 2007 released earlier this year. The new extensions add an "x" at the end. For example a .doc would be a .docx

These new extensions are not compatible with previous Office versions. You will need to download a file from Microsoft that will enable you to convert and open them. You can find the information and instructions for the download at the link below. Once installed, you can open the document. It will take a bit longer than a normal document but that's ok.
