It is reported in Plover, WI that a couple was arrested for robbing a gas station with a samurai sword. The couple needed money to leave town, so they stole a 2000 Mercury Sable, on August 8th, from the Jeepers Gin Mill and then dove home to pick a sword and two stocking caps. They then drove to the gas station and threatened the clerk with the sword and forced the clerk to give them several hundred dollars from the cash registers.

The couple was arrested after a Plover officer remembered seeing several samurai swords in their apartment when he responded to a domestic disturbance issue in May. The male is being held in jail on a $75,000 bond and the female is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Would have been Darwin Award Candidates #3, if only...

It's almost too bad that this couple didn't try and rob a store protected by Smith & Wesson. Their epitaph could have read: "Never bring a knife to a gunfight." Idjits.
