I look out
across the stormy waters
through the mist and past the darkness.
A silent scream echos in senseless ears
slowly losing grip
falling up to the stars.
Twisting the already twisted dream,
the delicious madness,
the thundering pain of a single tear.
Delerious, crazy with anguish;
hopeless, never to understand;
cold moonlight peering in unwanted.
Turn the corner, cross the street;
stand in the spotlight;
screech in terror as it slips away
and falls behind the moon.
The door slowly closes
with a shattering crash.
Stand in horror at
the fall of a heartless tear.
