I have been watching advertisements while watching India vs Pakistan, Indian Oil Cup 2007 on Neo Sports channel that live streaming is available at Zapak.com. I tried to check the links for cricket streaming on Zapak.com and after clicking so many links I finally found that at neosports.zapak com. But how wrong advertisement Zapak.com was giving on TV, first of all these so called live streming aren't live second that are not providing it free of charge. Rs.50/- per match they are charging per match, on the name of live streaming they are providing full clips of matches which can be found at more places on internet.
Neo sports have their own site neosports.tv which is actually providing live streaming of cricket matchs, but not for free. They are charging a handsome amount for these streaming which I hope a cricket fan wouldn't mind :).
More good news, cricinfo.com which is now a part of ESPN group are planing to telecast live matches for which they have rights through streaming online to cover more audiences. When asked about this plan to Commercial Director of ESPN, his reply was " We will increasingly move under the ESPN umbrella, in terms of certain brand guidelines. Video obviously is going to be one focus area for us. Presently, we have very limited video content in our site, since we don’t have rights to many cricket properties. We are now creating technical infrastructure in serving video content, leveraging the expertise of Walt Disney and ESPN Internet Group, who have huge capabilities in terms of video serving”.
I think every sports channel is trying to reach more audience through these online streaming of live matches which will help them generate more income and why shouldn't they, there are a lot of sites and blogs which are providing these for free and earning money through online advertisement programms.
