Crisis Deepening in Honduras: ABC & Yahoo!

The title of a recently released ABC News article is "Zelaya Supporters Escalate Their Fight in Honduras: Diplomats seek a resolution", but it seems as if Micheletti supporters and especially Micheletti himself aren't willing to budge which means that there will be no "resolution", at least not in the near future.
The first sentence is "Supporters of ousted President Manuel Zelaya vowed Monday to widen protests and BLOCK TRADE NATIONWIDE as the deposed leader headed to Washington for a meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton". Honduras is now basically isolated from the outside world, having been cut off by the OAS.
In another major development, "Anger increased following the death of a teenager shot by soldiers as a crowd tried to break through an airport fence where a plane carrying Zelaya was prevented from landing". So now, innocent civilians are starting to get caught up in the crossfire in the dispute between Zelaya, recognized by international leaders as the true Honduran leader and Micheletti, who seized power in a coup.
According to Rafael Alegria, a protest organizer, "We're going to change strategies. We cannot live under the current state". That's a pretty dramatic argument.
Meanwhile, "The interim government closed the airport Monday and soldiers and military vehicles continued to block the runways". This is very similar to what happened in Thailand shortly after former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was ousted and replaced by an interim government before the next premier, Samak Sundaravej, took over. Both pro and anti-Thaksin Thais battled it out on roads and Bangkok's international airport was closed for several days because of the resulting chaos. Honduras seems to be heading in that same chaotic direction.
Speaking at a late night press conference in Nicaragua, after failing to return home, Zelaya continued: "I am risking myself personally TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEMS WITHOUT VIOLENCE". Well, there already has been plenty of violence. Zelaya is clearly trying to act as if he is the victim when in fact HE IS JUST AS BAD AS THE GOVERNMENT THAT SEIZED POWER BECAUSE HE IS TRYING TO MANIPULATE THE CONSTITUTION by lifting the restrictions on presidential term limits PAVING THE WAY FOR HIM TO ESSENTIALLY BECOME A DICTATOR.
Jose Miguel Insulza, secretary-general of the Organization of American States (OAS) says that he "is open to continuing all appropriate DIPLOMATIC overtures to obtain our objective". This will be tricky, however, because since Honduras is closer to South America than it is to North America, negotiations will most likely have to involve hardline Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.
According to a Yahoo! article entitled "Zelaya Supporters Escalate Their Fight in Honduras", Jorge Illescas, leader of the Liberal Party that both Zelaya and Micheletti belong to, said "Micheletti won't be in goverment for very long - only the time needed TO IMPROVE THINGS IN HONDURAS. He will leave next January", regardless of whether the situation in Honduras is stable or not. And it seems as if Micheletti is pouring oil onto kerosene (i.e. Micheletti has made the political situation in Honduras worse than it was before BECAUSE HE HAS VIRTUALLY NO POPULAR SUPPORT). So Jorge Illescas is in Costa Rica what Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is in Iran (supposedly the supreme or unquestioned leader). The million-dollar question now becomes: will Roberto Micheletti listen to him?
Micheletti promptly responded: "We will be here until things calm down. WE (i.e. his government) are the authentic representatives of the people". Well, Zelaya is saying this too, but it seems like both people are using the same arguments, so we really don't know/can't tell at this stage who is more convincing.
Finally, Heather Berkman, a Eurasia Group analyst, made the most important point: "The government thinks it can muddle through in isolation for a few months until new elections - and it could, if that was all it depended on. BUT ONCE AND THE ECONOMY COME INTO PLAY THAT'S WHEN PEOPLE GET UPSET". Considering that we are in the middle of a global economic/financial crisis, the fact that people don't have enough food in their stomachs becomes the most pressing problem/issue that needs to be dealt with and filling people's stomachs becomes the top priority.
