Culture in Las Vegas
posted November 26, 2008 - 4:33pmMost people at first glance, when they come to Las Vegas for a vacation, wouldn't expect the place to be that much of a cultural city. In fact the opposite is quite true. Despite all the flashy bright lights and displays that Las Vegas has to offer, it also offers historical places to visit including museums that you normally wouldn't find in other cities. Las Vegas actually has quite a bit to offer when it comes to a rich cultural heritage.
An example of a unique historical museum in Las Vegas, would be the Atomic Testing Museum. We are all aware that the desert sands of Nevada were the testing grounds and birth phase of atomic energy. Because of this, Las Vegas decided to make this notable and created a museum that is very informative and allows everyone and anyone to come understand, and be educated about Atomic energy, in Las Vegas.
Another cultural museum that can be found in Las Vegas is the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Carroll Shelby Museum. This museum focuses on the cars in the desert sands of Nevada where many drivers broke speed records. It has many facts, displays and even replicas of actual cars that have went down in history as some of the fastest to have ever been driven.
There is also a Childrens Discovery Museum in Las Vegas which houses many educational artifacts specific to the development of children. It is an educational experience, fun and rich in learning for the whole family. There is also a natural history museum in Vegas that has a lot to offer. It actually displays a marine life exhibit for all to see and explore. There is another museum called the Liberace Museum which shows tribute to "Mr Showmanship", one of the greatest performers in Las Vegas. Here you can learn about his life and past experience as a performer in Las Vegas and what it took to bring him to stardom.
