Cycle of Civilization

Cycle of Civilization

Years ago, I read a wonderful piece of information about the cycle of a civilization. So I went looking online and discovered it again.

Alex Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh at the time of Americas birth, wrote a warning to America in 1787. He observed that the average age of the world's greatest civilizations was about 200 years, during which they inevitably progressed through the following sequence:

1. from bondage to faith,
2. from faith to courage,
3. from courage to liberty,
4. from liberty to abundance,
5. from abundance to complacency,
6. from complacency to apathy,
7. from apathy to dependence, and
8. dependence back to bondage.

Well, there you have it, folks. What stage do you think we are at? I feel that we are in apathy flowing into dependence. Can you believe that our country of the free and home of the brave will become dependent which will eventually bring us full-circle to bondage.
Here are some facts to support our apathy and future dependence.

Obama's whole platform was about change. Well, he took the budget from $3.5 trillion, in his first 30 days in office to another trillion dollars. Now, how's that for change? Actually, if you count everything that has been promised, I'd say we are in debt for over $20 trillion. However, we don't know the exact amount cause the books aren't open to us for scrutiny.

Nationalizing the banks: The Fed has turned itself into the largest commercial bank in the world. And how did Ben Burnanke become such an economic dictator? He has facilitated the take-over of mortgage lenders such as Fannie Mae. How did he get this power? Did America vote him into this office? I didn't vote for him and I certainly didn't tell him he could spend over $3 trillion dollars for banks. That's our money! Yours and mine! And Burnanke is like a thief in the night, sneaking in while we slept and stole our hard-earned incomes! They are going to be running the major banks! How does this make you feel? OMG! It scares the malarkey out of me. They have control and they can say, "Nope, we won't loan money to you because your company is not "politically correct" and supporting the policies or laws that we are promoting." I mean, think about this! And there's more to consider here! They will also have access to a lot of financial information about you and me! How dangerous could this be? They are in charge. There is no need for affirmative action cause they can just coerce business. Either jump on board or we have no money to loan you. It will be the Pelosi 1st National Bank of the American Socialist States. How's that, people? Has a nice ring to it, don't it? (Opps, didn't see that coming)

Free-enterprise is on its deathbed, while the liberals stand vigil with their hand on the plug. Out of compassion and mercy, they will gladly pull the plug. My opinion, of course but shared by others as well. The hard truth is that those banks that were going bankrupt should have been left alone to fail; exactly the way others have failed in business. They should have been allowed to burn. This reminds me of an episode of Rawhide, an old western series. There was a wildfire so the cowboys were trying to outrun it. They kept running and running but the fire always kept right on their heels. Exhausted, one of the cowboys finally told them, "We have to stop running cause it will catch up to us. What we have to do is turn and face the fire. We have to take off running directly into it. Sure, we'll get burnt, a little. But if we run through it, what we will find on the other side is calm and safe. We have to face the fire." Yes, the banks, businesses and homeowners should have faced the fire, taken their heat and gotten a few burns but came out on the other side where the fire is done, there is calm and they can start over.

Stephen Moore from the Wall Street Journal and the author of the book End of Prosperity. Said in an interview with Glenn Beck, "You know, we've forgotten about what the founding fathers stood for. They stood for limited government with government standing out of the way of the free enterprise system. We don't have that anymore. We don't have free enterprise today. "

George Washington said, "Government is a fearsome master." In other words, something you should be very aware of.

Another sign of alarm is the take-over of Media as the Fairness Doctrine:
Quoting from the magazine, Newsmax, author Dave Eberhart wrote;
"The Fairness Doctrine could be used by a liberal administration to silence Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other radio talk show hosts -- as well as much of the new alternative media. The doctrine required broadcasters to report both sides of controversial issues. It was dropped in 1987 by the Federal Communications Commission. Obama is now looking at it again and could revive it.

On a radio show, former President Bill Clinton announced that in his opinion something needed to be done to balance broadcasting.
"Well, you either ought to have the fairness doctrine or you ought to have more balance on the other side," Clinton said, "because essentially there has always been a lot of big money to support the right wing talk shows."
Clinton targeted the "blatant drumbeat" against the stimulus program from conservative talk radio, saying it doesn't reflect economic reality, according to Broadcasting and Cable."

So not only will the government have control over the money; be able to coerce businesses to their way of thinking; add to it that they will take control of the media (like that isn't already happening) and enact the "Fairness Doctrine" Not to be fair, but to silence the voices that may speak against them. How's that for freedom?

Complacency! For years, we have slept and allowed the snakes to invade our nations capital. Many of us failed to appreciate the value of what we have because compared to most countries, we had blessings in abundance. An abundance of food, steady pay, education, and rights. Rights that we have taken for granted as ours by birth. We forgot that rights are a privilege earned from our forefather's fight for liberty. Do you see where we came from? Revolution to free ourselves from bondage in the pursuit of liberty! We came from liberty into abundance! We have followed the cycle perfectly. Generation Next are more complacent than ever. Apathy has come to nest within our lives though you don't know it. Government swoops in on the wings of Obama to save the day. Never fear, SuperGovernment is here! You don't need to worry about anything cause we are going to make it all better. Banks are failing? No problem. We'll just buy them. Large corporate America is failing. We got it!  We'll force them to take our money and teach them how to really run a company. Can't pay your mortgage? No worries, friends. SG is here to stop the consequences of your stupidity. Never fear!  Now we follow the cycle just like sheep to the slaugther.
