So now it's offical Cynthia Rodriguez (Scurtis) has decided to call it quits with MLB superstar Alex Rodriguez. The divorce petition that was filed earlier today states that "Alex has emotionally abandoned his wife and children, and has left her with no choice but to divorce him." The writing had been on the wall with all the Arod and Madonna rumors as well as the rumors of Cynthia spending time recently with Lenny Kravitz.

Cynthia Rodriguez is clearly going to court ready to fight. Cynthia has three lawyers that are planning to fight for her. She is asking for custody of their two daughters. She is also asking for their $12 million Coral Gables home as well as equitable distribution of assets. TMZ reports that A Rod is worth around $445 million. To say the least this is going to be a major battle!

Alex Rodriguez will no doubt go down as one of the best players ever in baseball history but the news cycle is clearly turning against him. He used to have a pretty squeaky clean image, and now it is very far from that. The bad news for A Rod is this; if he expects this story to go away anytime soon he's kidding with himself.
