Dalai Lama to Receive U.S. Congressional Gold Medal, Meet President Bush

The Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Tuesday will receive the Congressional Gold Medal, its highest civilian honor awarded by the U.S. Congress.

The Dalai Lama will meet with President Bush in Washington privately before the honor from Congress. The Dalai Lama is on a month-long tour of North American cities, which will include public talks at theaters. He will speak on several different days at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

China has expressed its displeasure with the decision by Congress to honor the Dalai Lama.
