Danica Patrick, Sarah Fisher, and Milka Duno Campaign to Lower Gas Prices at Indy 500
posted May 25, 2007 - 4:00pmThe Indy Racing League, who present the Indianapolis 500 has changed the fuel used this year from methanol to Ethanol. Growing the corn to make the gasoline additive is the major agricultura activity in the midwestern United States where Indianapolis is located.
There are also manufacturers of corn
planting, harvesting and processing equipment so the production of Ethanol has become an important component of the midwest's economy.
Sugar cane can also be used to manufacture Ethanol.
American's are familiar with Danica Patrick and Sarah Fisher from their previous racingcar appearances in the last several years.
Who is Milka Duno? Milka Duno has several Masters Degrees and drives a Dallara fo SAMAX Motorsports.

Milka Duno is sponsored by CITGO, a service station chain and oil company that serves the eastern United States.
It will be interesting to see how the switch to pure Ethanol effects the performance of the Indy cars. Ethanol has 20% less energy per gallon than gasoline, will this cause the racecars to make more pitstops for fuel? (It is said the Honda engines used at Indy get 2 miles-to-the-gallon.)
The top drivers during qualifying were doing 224 Mile-Per-Hour laps, so it appears the cars will be at the same high level of competitiveness that we are accustomed to.
