Success breeds success and, unfortunately, jealousy.
During your ascension of the corporate ladder you have likely won a lot of friends and a few enemies. These enemies, whom you will always encounter, will often try to bring you down or belittle your accomplishments. Left to their devices, your enemies or, to use a kinder term, jealous coworkers, can be a hindrance to the progress of your career and they may even set traps for you to stumble into.
