Decorate With Recycled Material
Decorate With Recycled Material
When we say redecorate with recycled materials, it does not mean using trash to make your rooms look grand. It simply means turning old stuff into something different. And all you need is a little imagination and a lot of creativity...
a)If your cushions look limp, the fillers need to be changed. Forget about washing the polyfibre. Just throw it out. But readymade cushions or stitch covers in different sizes and fill them yourself. Choose covers in bright colours, red, green, rust, burgundy and wine add colour to your home.
b)If your carpet is torn or worn out, don't throw it out just yet. Cut out the damaged protions. You can either cut along the design or cut them up into smaller rugs. Then have them stitched along the edges, to prevent the wool or cotton fibres from fraying. Or co-ordinate with a matching fabric and make a border.
c)If you have a coffee table whose surface is scratched, replace the wooden surface with a glass table top. Opt for glass with a brownish tint that matches the colour of the furniture. You no longer have to worry about scratches anymore.
d)If you have an old, torn upholstered chair that is lying unused simply have it reupholstered and repolished. Don't worry about having just one odd piece of furniture. Today anything goes.
