Fascia: Pronounced (FAY-SHA)
1. A specialized connective tissue layer which surrounds muscles, bones, and joints, providing support, protection and giving structure to the body. It consists of three layers: the superficial fascia, the deep fascia and the subserous fascia.
2. A flat front board that caps off the rafter tail ends and fly rafter edges along the roof.
3. Part of the face of a building, and in the case of a shop or other business it is where the name is typically displayed.
