Delta Airlines Mileage Expiration
Delta Airlines Mileage Expiration
Delta Airlines is introducing Rolling Mileage Expiration
We're modifying our mileage expiration policy, and we want you to know all about it.
Effective January 1, 2009, the SkyMiles® mileage expiration policy will change from the existing two-year policy tied to the end of the calendar year to a "rolling" two-year policy. This means your miles will expire two years after your last qualifying activity—rather than at the end of the second year after your last qualifying activity.
Confused? Let us explain. If your last qualifying activity took place on February 1, 2009, your miles will expire on February 28, 2011 —not on December 31, 2011.
There's no need to stress. Yes, our two-year expiration policy is now "rolling," but it's as easy as ever to keep your account active. We offer a multitude of mileage-earning opportunities because we want you to hold on to your miles.
So don't let your miles expire. Recharge your miles today!

Thanks for the info
I think the airlines enjoy spending time coming up with new (and sometimes confusing) policies instead of spending their time improving service.
