Demand your rights, the sad story of Sicko

I have just been watching Sicko and I am shocked, I can not believe that this could be the state of the American health service.

It is stunning that such a big and successful country could have such a horrible and mean health ‘service’. It strikes me that over-capitalization in the US ensures a 2 tier health system.

- A British politician states, that there are 2 ways for a government to control a country, one is through fear, and the other is ensuring they are demoralized. The poor and demoralized are less likely to vote for what they want.

- People are dumped out on a street wearing hospital gowns, often with IV’s still in their arms, because they do not have insurance, or run out of money to pay their medical bills.

- In Europe the health service is nationalized and equal. The doctors are paid well, the services are expected to meet the highest standards. The service is available to all, not just the rich.

- In the movie he states that in England and France, the poorest people are expected out outlive America’s richest people. Why is that?

- A lady in this film got to watch her daughter die; hours of delay in treatment were caused by them wrangling over how her health insurance did not cover her daughter’s very basic treatment requirements. The poor woman begged them to help her child. The child’s temperature was out of hand, and then she had a convulsion, by the time she had any help the child (hours later), went into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated. WHO! On earth could say “I am not going to save this child’s live until you can prove you can pay first”

Americans have a reputation for standing up for their rights, how could this happen?

- Sick web site says that 18000 million American’s will die because they are uninsured - this child would have been JUST ONE OF THEM.

A list of facts from Michael Moore’s film with embedded sources to qualify his statements.

It reads like the states is a third world.

Demand your rights, not just for you but for ALL of your American citizens, even if you have health insurance, this is your responsibility.

After all, your government should work for you. Its not you working for them. Have expectations.
