Palin Did Not Abuse Her Power
Palin Did Not Abuse Her Power
I just read a CNN article titled, Panel: Palin abused power in trooper case. My thoughts are...This is "smear tactic extraordinaire"
The Democrats are on a witch hunt like the sniveling weak sisters they are this group must make America look bad so they have something to "save". I see no strength only a cockroach willing to eat themselves to get into power.
This article proves Branchflower by CNN's own admission in the middle of the report had no business wasting his time. Here is the quote. "The Branchflower report states Todd Palin used his wife's office and its resources to press for Wooten's removal, and the governor "failed to act" to stop it. But because Todd Palin is not a state employee, the report makes no finding regarding his conduct."
Branchflower is in a jurisdiction that isn't even his. What Branchflower is doing is a smear tactic strictly designed to malign a character he wishes he had. I saw a tee shirt today with a saying on it. It said Yesterday's flower child is today's blooming idiots." This is a true statement. Branchflower's name reminded me of the tee shirt.
It also reminds me of what Branchflower and the party of change's character is and what the party of change supports while hiding behind a fooled Labor Union working class.
No drilling off of our own coasts for our own oil
No new oil refineries
No new nuclear power plants for electricity
No to battery technology
No to God in our schools. This means if my Catholic child crosses himself after saying Grace he can get in trouble for it.
Yes to gay marriage. This means Churches will lose their tax exempt status if the Pastor sticks to the Word Of God and will not marry a gay couple.
Remove One Nation Under God from the Pledge of allegiance
Remove In God We Trust from our Money...
This is just a drop in the bucket of what the Socialist agenda is of the Labor Unions and Democrat controlled federal government if elected.
Is this what you want to support life long Democrats? Some of you do not know what your party of change really is. Do you really want to be a part of the change to socialism? Think it over Obama is not good for America vote John McCain for President

The report says Palin DID abuse her power
You got it wrong... If you look at the law, "failure to act" IS a violation in itself: when a public official doesn't take an action when they know they are supposed to.
And weren't there more than twice as many Republicans as Democrats on that investigating panel? How can it be a Democratic "witchhunt"?
Stapleton called the
Stapleton called the investigation "a partisan-led inquiry" run by supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, but hailed its finding that Monegan's firing broke no law.
"Gov. Palin was cleared of the allegation of an improper firing, which is what this investigation was approved to look into," she said.
Where is the broke a law?
Rep. John Coghill, a Republican who criticized the handling of the investigation, said it was "well-done professionally."
Rep. John Coghill said Palin "bumped right against the edges" of the state's ethics laws but that he would give "the benefit of the doubt to the governor, though, at this point."
That is both sides don't see any laws being broken. This is fabricated.
Would you care to see something of substance?

Palin is morally corrupt...
do you really believe she could be a substitute president with her painted nails on the nuke button? She is scary and should not be allowed to get near Washington. And I'm not American; just a potentially scared Kiwi.

And you are sexist
That is one of the most sexist remarks I've read yet regarding Governor Palin. First of all, not all women have painted nails. And second of all, you have a lot of men, in the business sector and other public figures, regularly visiting Spas and getting manicures and pedicures. And quite a few of these guys receive 'clear nail polish.' And some of these guys consider themselves "macho" although they are most likely "metro."

This Post Is Factually Incorrect
No matter what your political standpoint is, it was found that Sarah Palin abused her power.

It's one thing to have an opinion about something but it is an entire other thing to change reality to fit your agenda. Orwell would be proud.
I thought it was really all about getting a...

huttriver you are kidding right?
Dumb Alaskan or socialist? Hmmm. I will take the Alaskan every time. Don't forget this dumb Alaskan went up against big oil and beat them. This dumb Alaskan also has the guts to use her authority the post gives her. Which I can not see any of the democrat weak sisters doing unless Pelosi or the Unions say it is okay and than they would still have to ask Greenpeace and Pink first too.
The democrat party is a mess corrupt and lying to the American people and has been for the last three years.

I'm beginning to wonder how
I'm beginning to wonder how many people actually read the report. What I find wholly absurd about this entire episode is the fact that the final analysis is merely an opinion and the "firing" was entirely permissible. But don't take my word for it - here is what was written in finding #2 (out of four, two of which were irrelevant to the "abuse of power"):
“I find that, although Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.” (emphasis added in italics)
So, if I understand this correctly, the idea that Palin "abused her power" was the opinion of one man. Palin has stated that the "firing" of Monegan was not a result of the non-firing of Wooten. And there was no pressure from Sarah Palin to have Wooten fired. But regardless, it was within her power and right as governor to fire an executive branch department head. She could have fired Monegan for whatever reason she chose - that's her right as the head of the executive branch of government in Alaska. Monegan served at her pleasure.
So, if Branchflower decided that Sarah Palin has the "constitutional and statutory authority" to hire or fire executive employees at will, how could she have abused her power? It defies logic. As soon as he came to that understanding of the law, the rest of the investigation was absolutely unnecessary.
I therefore contend that Governor Sarah Palin could not have abused her power and agree with you that she did not abuse her power.
In my opinion, it was quite obviously a Democrat-led witch hunt. And it should be noted that Wooten still has his job.
