It's not exactly an 'X-FILES level' occurrence, but www.kucinich.us mysteeeeriously went down after Kucinich submitted 35 Articles of Impeachment for Pwezeedint Dubya.

Security-measures are back up, and the opening for you to sign a petition for our nation's righteousness is up-and-running; so you can go there and sign on as a true American!

The way stuff sludges through the system, this may not make it through until Dubya is out-of-office "naturally"; but it gives the signers an opportunity to stand up and be counted as 'they who knew he was never the best choice' ... like a marriage-annulment after the death of one of the spouses.

look at the poorer areas of the country- your view will change

subsistence hunting is more than acceptable. those who hunt to feed their families in these areas do so out of necessity. i've been in that situation and i've seen families worse off than mine who also used hunting in order to provide for their families. i'm not talking about those who go out in a $50k SUV, full orange hunting gear, the latest scopes and rifles. i'm talking about those who are using the same gun as their father and their father's father. do you consider it more humane for animals to be mass breed in stalls, force-fed meat (when they are herbavores) and injected with hormones so that they will grow faster and be cheaper to raise, only to be shipped to a slaughter house? you go to the store and you buy your meat...it is prepackaged. the truth of its history is nothing but a box to most people. i used to think like you but seeing true poverty in others changed my point of view.

cheese and formerly living

Cheese, as you know, is from milk, which is a mammary secretion from a formerly living thing (because dairy cows don't have long careers and are killed off as soon as their production decreases). But in the meantime, they're pumped full of hormones and antibiotics (which milk-drinking and cheese-eating humans also consume) to increase their yield (producing massive, painful udders) and resistance to disease and attached to a teat-sucking machine, and that's basically their life. So much for those happy California dairy cow commercials cavorting through the meadows!

canned hunting, sport hunting, trophy hunting, whatever

I don't believe any kind of hunting is ethically acceptable, although if you want to rate it from 1 to 10, canned hunting is an 11. You could make an argument for subsistence hunting, but often even subsistence hunters can do fine without it and just want to kill animals because it's part of their "tradition".
