Dentist Post on Xomba Enjoys a Nice Google Pagerank

I made an interesting discovery just now and I wanted to share it with the Xomba community. I was googling "remember your dentist" because somebody told me that today was "Dentists Day." Google did it's job and returned a quick page of the top ten and guess what - a Xomba post was at the top of the list! Now... while I learned that Dentists Day was months ago I also learned something else that is very important.

Did you know that there are some Xomba posts that are enjoying a nice page rank from Google? While most of the Xomba posts are still PR0, there are a number of posts that have a PR3 or PR2 ranking including this post:

Time to Remember Your Dentist Today

Also, here's a screenshot (strain your eyes a bit) of other PR successful posts:

So congratulations posties for some very good work! These are the kind of posts that would now benefit you with a quick editing - insert a link or two of your liking now and benefit from a friendly PR3 backlink...

Aloha ~

You're welcome

Like mrbronco, I don't have a very strong understanding of how all this Google stuff works. But it's interesting. :)

Okay So.....

So now this will add to my rank? It seems like cheating :)

PR3 Backlink

I see it MrBronco! You now have a backlink to your Xomba profile from a PR3 rated blog post. KJHack - I see yours too! Aloha ~ Ali

The Page Rank Question

If you write frequently (or used to write frequently), your profile link is the one that should be inserted into other blogs - either in the articles or in comments. Should you put your profile link in everything you write? Not sure about this, but the main thing is to not make it identical on every post because you might get penalized for duplicate content. Link your profile to different keywords - mix it up a bit. I'm by no means an expert here btw - just learning myself. Make a comment on one of my blog entries and then watch Google for the backlink. It really does work.

Link Question

Okay let me get this straight. We should put our referral link on everything we write? Or our profile link? Would it make sense to edit what is already written with one of these links?

Link Love for Page Rank

Thanks for the nice comments! Nick is absolutely right about linking to your Xomba profile to help pagerank on Xomba articles. Here are some posts on my Going2Oahu travel blog that have pageranks of 1,2, or 3. Feel free to leave a constructive comment and drop your Xomba profile link (my comments are dofolow) for a little link love. Waikiki Hilton Plans Elvis Birthday Party New Hawaii Sweepstakes - Win an Apple iPhone Waikiki Holiday Parade Hawaii Warriors Marching Band Fight Song No spam please - just nice comments and a link. Have fun and be good :-) BTW, you do not need to put your link in the comments section to get the link love. Just put it in the box that says URL and you're all set. Aloha ~ Ali

Other things about pagerank

Just because you have a an article with a good page rank does not mean it will make money. The higher the page rank the more likely it will show up higher in Google Search. This doesn't mean people are searching for it or if it has any nice paying ads in it. Your profile is the most important thing to have a high page rank even if it is just a 1. This means Google will start directly indexing your profile page and taking into account any links you have on that page as well. Hence, your recent posts. Users like Dedom and Going2 have good page ranks which helps them a bunch on anything they post. Doesn't mean they compete against Xomba users, but they compete on whatever they post on Google Search versus other websites. Make sense? Example: You write for one site and I write for another. I have a pagerank of 2 and you have 0. If our articles are the same I should have a better chance of being indexed faster and higher than yours. Keep in mind that other things are added in the formula. Not to mention this is all theory. :)
