Design Your Dwelling Competition - Challenging Creative Minds

Dwell is one of my favorite magazines on the subject of modern home design and décor. Always interesting articles on talented architects (past and present), creative home design or remodeling projects, furniture design, art, new products and more subjects related to design and living well.

They always seem to have information on some sort of design competition or another. I just received an email about their latest one. They have teamed up with Google for the Design Your Dwelling competition using Google SketchUp to create a virtual model of their ideal home on their predetermined site in San Francisco. Using Google Earth and Google SketchUp, submit your entry which will be judged on sustainability, cost-efficiency, interior and exterior design.

If you are an aspiring architect or just a creative design enthusiast, check out the details of this competition and the cool design software from Google. Enter and your winning entry could get you a trip to the Dwell HQ in San Francisco, for lunch and an awards ceremony as well as a tour of the site and a 3D model of your design.
