The Devil and Brendon Morrison (part 1)

I am Brendon Morrison and I hate my life.
Wake up. Take a shower. Brush my teeth. Put on a suit. And find a job. This has been my schedule since I’ve graduated college, six months ago. All I do is go on job interviews and get rejected by them. I ask girls out on dates, get rejected by them too. My friends are too busy living out their careers, or getting married, or having kids, so I’m stuck to wallow alone. My parents don’t care and neither do my two older sisters. My life sucks. That is until I went to sleep one night.
Sleeping is the highlight of my day. Dreaming makes it even better. That’s the most action I get all day, but this dream was different. In this dream I met the devil. It started off when I went to sleep. You know how you go to sleep, but you don’t remember going to sleep. That’s what happened to me. Then I woke. I thought I was still in my bed, but everything didn’t feel right. It was 10 times hotter, and my bed felt like rocks. Well, that was because I was lying on rocks I came to realize when I opened my eyes. The heat, well the fact that the cliff I was lying on was above fueling fire could account for that. I stood up and ran, not knowing where to run or where I was period. I just ran, until I heard the voice. This voice was smooth, soft, and velvety. It said, “Don’t run.” And I obeyed, before asking, “Who are you?”
“I am your friend. At least I can be. I can be your friend or your enemy. Your salvation or your lost. Your life or your death. You choose which one”
“You still haven’t answered the question,” I said beginning to feel defiant. “I want a direct answer. Now who the hell are you? And this better be good.”
“It will,” the voice said quietly.
“Still not answering the question!” I yelled with frustration.
What happened next nearly made me wet my pants. A man appeared out of no where with a cloud of black smoke around him. He held out his hand to shake and with a smirk on his face he said, “I am the Devil, at your services.”
