Dianne Odell spent nearly 60 years of her life in an iron lung. As a child, Odell was afflicted with bulbo-spinal polio three years before a polio vaccine was discovered.

Dianne Odell died today, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 due to an outage in Tennessee causing her machine, that kept her breathing, to shut down. Check out the full story and video clip uploaded last year to YouTube showing Odell singing one of her favorite songs.
