Did You Hear About the Woman Who Jogged a Mile With a Rabid Fox Clamped on Her Arm?
posted November 8, 2008 - 7:46amI never cease to be amazed upon hearing true life stories of normal people experiencing abnormal occurrences and the often heroic ways they react.
You hear stories about people who are crushed & pinned to the ground from a fallen tree. They can't move and are facing certain death since they are in the middle of nowhere, but then they take out their pocket knife and cut off an arm or leg and somehow make it to safety.
I just can't imagine I could or would do that.
I heard about the teenage farm boy who amputated both arms in machinery and somehow made it into his house and got a pencil in his mouth and called 911.
The mind boggles.
The latest one is the woman jogger who got attacked by a rabid fox. The animal did a pit bull impersonation and she was unable to get it off her arm, so she ran, with it on her arm, to her car, A MILE AWAY. Deciding to get the animal tested for rabies, she raised her car trunk, slammed the animal off her arm and closed the trunk, before driving for help.
The strength, bravery, intelligence and coolness under pressure she demonstrated, is downright humbling.
