Dilated Cardiomyopathy
 
 
Sitting on my porch watching lightning crack the sky
I hear the distant roar of thunder come slowly creeping by
And as I close my eyes I think back to better times
Feeling my heart beat and I can’t help but to shake my head and smile
All the while I’m holding back years as I sit here in a rare moment of silence
Staring out across a rain soaked Vegas skyline I curse the creator of light
But the rain against the sky makes for a soft and haunting lullaby
My drifting in and out of sleep stops just long enough for me to say good…
