Disfunctional Relationships

Why do we stay in relationships that just are not working? I think we all just want to be loved. We all learn love differently as a child and what one person expects to receive in terms of love might be totally different than what your partner is willing to give. I believe it is all based on how you were loved as a child and how you wish you were loved as a child.
