Disney and how to save when visiting

Disney and how to save when visiting

Here are a few sites I have come across that will help people who are planning a Disney vacation. I did not get a package deal when I went. I booked outside of the park with Expedia and was sorry I did. I hear you have a better experience when you stay inside the park. However I did save a lot of money. My room was about $60.00 a night and it was a very nice hotel with a huge pool, hot tub and waterfall.

What cost us the most was the food, and souvenirs. It was quite easy to spend $2000 in 4 days.....

I think I have a ankle bracelet to show for it and a few pictures....

Maybe these sites will help you:

www.expedia.com

we went the cheapest way we could booked through expedia. Bought souvenirs outside of the park. We did eat inside the parks a couple times and for lunch it was over $50 for fast food nothingness.

So I highly recommend either packing a cooler, or leaving to eat. That was a bit too much. Also if going in the hot months be prepared carry one of those spray fans. We ended up buying 2 in the park and that set us back about $40.

I hope this helps someone. I think I am going to order the vacation planning dvd so I can see what all I missed and maybe take the kids again in a couple years.

a few tips

Do not visit during the or around a major holidays or summer vacations if at all possible.

Staying inside the park does offer perks but you pay alot for them. Once you arrive at the airport Disney will whisk you away - you do not need a car on property - you can get to anywhere easily thru their transpotation. Certain parks on certain days open early for people staying on property. You also have the option of buying extended tickets to stay past normal closing. Everywhere but the Swan and Dolphin will let you charge purchases to your room and said purchase can be sent to your room/hotel so you don't have to carry them around.

Cheapest rooms are found at the Disney All-Star resort and Pop-Century. These are motel style accomodations but are on Disney property so offer the same perks.

The Disney timeshare offers are a good deal if you can afford them and are worth a look.

Backpacks are a necessity. Fill them with snacks and drinks to cut down food purchases in the park. Double bagged ziploc bags of ice will keep things cool.

Use the Fast Passes to your advantage i.e. try to use them for the popular rides. Use your time well. Most of the parks take a full day to see everything even if you plan well.

Florida residents get discounts off rooms and tickets - find a or become a Florida resident.

Do not buy tickets from anyone other than Disney.

Of course this is all for the Disney World location.
