Disney To Keep Vanessa Hudgens In "High School Musical 3"

In a refreshing moment of maturity The Walt Disney Co has announced it will be keeping Vanessa Hudgens in her role as the brainy Gabriella its wildly successful "High School Musical" franchise, despite her "lapse in judgment" in posing for r-rated photos that were leaked to the Internet.

Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment," said Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague. "We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."

Vanessa told her fans she was sorry. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos," she said. "I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

Disney has been known for generations for its prudish attitude and rigid control of its actresses. Even during the "Bikini Beach Party Movie Era" Disney actresses were only allowed to wear modest one piece bathing suits.

This act of forgiveness on the part of Disney executives is a true step forward, more in the spirit of the rebels who gave birth to the Disney Empire with "Fantasia" in the 30's.

Disney has finally, after a very prolonged adolescence, grown up.

Disney Christmas Parade

On Christmas Day... can't wait!

Vanessa Hudgens

Disney has stood behind Vanessa. I am quite proud of them....lol She will be one of the stars of the Disney Christmas Parade. Angel

Vanessa Hudgens

Disney did the right thing here. Vanessa did something in private that lots of eighteen year olds do. It shouldn't have become public in the first place, but the internet is epedemic for stuff like that. Anyway, glad she's moving on.

I was going to say that Disney put profit over principle, but...

I've seen a few of the photos posted and they are not really any big deal. Heck, Pepsi gave away Britney Spears posters a few years ago that were more suggestive than the ones currently circulating for Ms. Hudgens. _______________________________________________________ "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason?
