DJ AM & Travis Barker DID NOT "Leave The Others To Die" -- How Dare Anybody Say That!
posted September 20, 2008 - 5:22pmWell it didn't take long. Did it?
With the internet, there is one thing you can count on at least as much as the sun coming up in the east every morning, and that's bloggers who will report things that they don't know to be true. In fact, they will report things they know to be false. I can't tell you why they do it. I just know they do it.
The chatter has already started regarding the tragic plane crash and the loss of lives in South Carolina. Former band member in Blink 182 and star of MTV's "Meet the Barkers", Travis Barker, and well known dj, DJ AM (Adam Goldstein, Nicole Richie's ex) were the only survivors of 6 on a learjet that crashed upon take off in Columbia, South Carolina.
Witnesses saw sparks coming from the plane The pilot, Sarah Lemmon radioed that she was going off the runway. The plane came to a stop after hitting a hill on a private road. According to eye witnesses Barker and Goldstein were the only occupants who were able to get out. They are both critically injured and/or very badly burned.
Armed with that information alone, people are making outrageous and ignorant accusations to the affect that they got out and left the others to die in fiery deaths. One of Travis Barker's best friends was in the plane, Chris Baker. Anyone suggesting that Barker allowed his right hand man to perish needlessly has no idea what they are talking about.
Based upon the known information and based upon what is known about the both Goldstein and Barker, the suggestion is ludicrous and irresponsible. The internet is a double edged sword. When it's misused in such a manner, it's truly painful and ugly.
Prayers for Barker and Goldstein and the family and loved ones of the 4 who didn't make it, are always helpful and appreciated.
