I firmly believe that if I searched the whole world over, I couldn't find a guy more opposite from me than my husband. He loves sports, I HATE sports, he's messy, I'm clean, he's outgoing, I'm shy, he loves the snow, I love the beach, I couldn't hammer a nail, he can build a house, I could go on for days. So how's this working for me? Some days I wonder what it'd be like to be with someone even just a smidge like myself. It's more the little things that drive me nuts--but when it comes to the big stuff, opposites are the way to go. Where I falter, he picks up the slack. I see so many of his attributes I wish I had and respect him all the more for it. I call us the dynamic duo--if scientists could combine our personality, we'd be close to superhero status. We balance each other and refuse to feed into each other's insecurities. We make fun of each other's quirks, because we don't have them ourselves. We have fuller, richer lives because of our differences.
