Do we Really Need to Know?
posted March 21, 2008 - 11:03pmIs it that important to the general public really, to know what Heath Ledger died of? Would people be missing something from their lives if there were no gossip mags, telling us about Lindsay Lohan's latest rehab stint? Does anybody need to hear about Brittany Spears' last freak out or
what kind of pills she's popping these days?
C'mon, there are so many more worthwhile things to think and talk about besides, Paris Hiltons latest four legged acquisition. Who cares, besides their families of course.
Seeing the importance that is put upon these folks, yes, they are just people after all, with paparazzi chasing them around and making their lives all that much bigger seems to belittle the really important things that we really do need to deal with. It all is so shallow, and unimportant.
It isn't even good brain candy, and it would make no difference to the world in general if they went home after work each day and we didn't hear anything about them until the next movie or album. Let them deal with their own dirty laundry, nobody else needs to see it, just like nobody needs to see yours or mine. It is their business, and when we go out and spend money on the magazines that publish it, they send more hounds out to dig up the dirt.
Some of the famous people want to tell their stuff, that is fine, let them it is so much better than having their lives stolen in bits and pieces by those bold enough to go maurading for it. The world, our community, our neighbourhood has more important issues, lets worry about that.
