Do You Have to Be Psychic to Predict Future Events?
posted January 12, 2007 - 7:18pm People have long asked why myself and my fellow 100% Club founders area always right in our predictions. Some have even said we are “prescient” in the same fashion as other predictors such as Edgar Cayce and Nostradamus. To this we always laugh because there is nothing prescient in our
activities. We are successful to because we hold some mysterious power of seeing into the future or have the “gift” of being psychic. Indeed, we, as skeptics and cynics, don’t even believe such claims exist at all.
Our success simply lies in the boundaries of knowing mankind and its nature and weaknesses. Once we know this, we address a particular issue at hand in popular culture, and we make a prediction. We are always found out to have been correct only because we know that man is so flawed and predictable that we instinctively know that it is just a matter of time before mankind messes himself up regardless of the issue.
It is never a matter of how much or when or if, but when. Another way to describe our abilities is that we are “wait and see” prognosticators. We hold that if you wait long enough mankind will always screw up and usually in a big way. And the wait is seldom very long.
We’d like to help the humans, but they seem to enjoy sabotaging themselves so much we can’t. It is impossible to help someone who insists on ignoring your advice.
