Do you know what happens to the real you when your body dies?

Your soul / astral body comes out of your body when you die. In very simple terms the soul leaves the body upon death. There is no longer any reason to remain in the body. We usually don't realize it but we often leave our body and travel
while the body rests in a 'sleep stage' while we are asleep. Leaving our body is much like that. The lack of memory of our dreams prohibits the majority of people from recalling the experience(s) of leaving the body. When the memory is accessed of the 'soul travel' experience it is often referred to as a vivid recall of a dream, or associated with a feeling of being elsewhere to a point where it seemed so real. In addition, it happens while the body rests in the REM stage or in mediation.
Our soul's can easily walk out of our body at free will when we die, and at other times that we often don't recall; like with the dreaming mind stage. For example, people say stuff like, "I don't dream" when it is that they are just not remembering what occurred in the REM stage or while they left their body that night. The mind can be trained to astral projection at will. It is referred to as: out of body experience, astral traveling, or soul travel.
Where the soul chooses to go once the body dies is totally up to the individual person. When the body dies that houses that particular soul there is a light that appears. It shines forth and beings will come forward to assist the loved one home. The spirits that come to get the dying or deceased person could be angels, loved ones that have previously died, or even loved ones that haven't incarnated in this lifetime with you but might have in prior lifetimes, or are just very close companions on the other side-- back home.
You have to remember that you are suffering from amnesia right now in order to experience your life as it is right now. That being in solid form, and as a human being having an earthly experience. Your real self isn't what you are experiencing right now with what you are going through in your life today. You are much more than that, and are here for a reason; to learn, and shine forth the best you can.
You are just adding to the pool of change, one drop at a time. What you do makes an effect on the mass minds one drop at a time. Just like with a drop of water that lands in a body of water and causes a ripple effect; so to are we, and by so doing we actually are effecting the world by our consciousness and other factors all play a role in the bigger picture of our existence here on earth. All it takes is one drop / a ripple to make a difference in the body of the mass and that is why we each chose to come to earth at this time –to make a difference by what we do or don't do.
The spirit's mental development prior to death ultimately determines where he or she will go. Ones belief system will ascertain what happens. There are a number of people that believe different things about what transpires once you die. And because of that belief we have a lot of earthbound spirits / ghosts that refuse to go to heaven because they are afraid.

Even more, fear and lack of true spiritual knowledge often determines when the soul actually moves on from the earth plane level or where they choose to go. We have a choice if we go with the angels /light workers into the light, or stay behind. Even if you have been a terrible person you go towards home in most cases. Which is heaven, and there will be a place and time for your recovery before you are resubmitted back into your original state of perfection. It is important to go through the rehabilitation process for the majority of souls that come from earth.
To recover who you truly are and what your mission has been that caused the circumstances that you went through. Reincarnation is a big one too. Because it isn't one life that you have lived but so many. We have existed for eternity, our souls are neither young or old. Instead they are a form of ever lasting perfection that continues to incarnate in order to experience pain and suffering in many forms in order to experience on another level of understanding. There also is so much more going on that we can't even begin to grasp on a spiritual standpoint.
We are actually powerful souls that have given up incarnated in order to learn through experiencing in a physical form, and to help others, along with so much more. The seed of information is within you of your higher understanding and knowledge for knowing what I say is truth, and in regards to your divine being.
When you decide to incarnate you must go through a form of amnesia to wipe out who you really are in order to experience an earthly existence.
Many times people will come through with knowledge from a prior lifetime or will be a master pianist, etc.. Time in heaven is different from here. What is days in our time is mere moments over there. Days here on earth are equal to just minutes over there. When you get back home to the spirit world you can either rest or choose to go back to school, which is another reincarnation. Usually once you pass on (go to the other side) you stay there until everyone has came back home. Basically you relax for 100 years or so, before you decide to take another undertaking. Unless you decide you must be born right away for whatever reason. Many times those reasons are do to suicides.
Just remember that when you die you must go back to heaven. Do not stay here, move on. Your wasting your time staying behind. When you die you need to go right into the light because your school time is up here, and we do not really want ghosts to be haunting the earth. So, remember what you must do when that time comes, and don't be afraid. It's just a step you take to go back home to where you originally belong. It is your true home.

The Soul
I like what you said and that is very normal to believe that way. The thing is that I have had spiritual phenomena happen to me my whole life. I have been able to walk out of my body when I was five years old and see my form laying there. When I was only getting my tonsils out lol. Hey, I was a bit worried! It comes natural to children to see, hear and know those things. I know that we do have a soul because I have had many experiences on a higher level of understanding.
It pains me deep within to know the truth of spirituality from a great level of understanding from my very own experiences because I am in the flesh making mistakes and such. We all do! All we can do is try to do our very best while we are here. I have wrote articles on my astral travel experiences and the other paranormal experiences. You know...there is less guilt not knowing these things, because once you experience it for yourself it changes everything and I am not just talking about the human soul.
When one hits on one subject of the supernatural many doors can open from that one door. It opens up to an amazing experience of knowing if you can see the indepth nature of the spirit world, etc.. Remember, just one thing your soul doesn't ever die.

The artice that i just read, I must say was quite interesting. Nothing has ever been proven by science which could hold any relevance to "what happens after death". Another way to percieve it is that " a human brain has all these images and various memories with it even after normal bodily functions are seized. After death, the only part that doesn't die with the rest of the body is the human brain. So, people with claims such as " I SAW A BRIGHT LIGHT" and "I HAD ANGELS ALL AROUND ME, SINGING TO ME AND CALLING ME TOWARDS THEM", could have formed these images in the subliminal part of thier conscience because..........well because we have all heard about what happens after and when we actually die, Most of us are never revived. So whats gone is gone. Hardly any of the stories that i have gone through can actually tell that people have been revived after 2 days which exactly one day more than what it takes for a brain to die.
But what if all the spirit's and ghost's that we know and we talk about are in our heads, because no study has a 100% evidance of the paranormal. Infact that is why it is called the paranormal. Our thinkings have been tied down for a purpose which most of us fail to see. One of those boundations is Death!.
I have no intention of ruining any philosophy or hurting any opinion. Im just posting mine. Maybe just Maybe what ever happens after death is because our brain is still alive and thats what we can see. After the brain dies, there is no vision, no bright lights, no angels. Nice article though, all i propose is another way of looking at things. Please take no offence from this comment.
