Do you think you're fooling anyone when you order a Diet Cola?

Do you think you're fooling anyone when you order a Diet Cola?

I think this is pretty obvious but I am going to state it anyway because judging by the way office workers eat lunch they are clueless. ATTENTION: Smoothies are a meal in itself. Yes, they are healthy and some come with protein, vitamins, and immunity boosts, but that does not make it okay to eat along with a BBQ Beef Sandwich. What makes these people decide that this is an okay combination? Not just sandwiches, I've seen business people do it with nachos, or tacos, or even fast food! There are so many things wrong with this concept. You defeat the purpose of a health shake by coupling it with a saturated fat nightmare. Then there are the people at TGIFridays who order their mushroom hambugers with Seasoned fries and mozzerella stick appetizers and then ask for a DIET Coke. Like anyone thinks you are on a diet. When you do that all you do is make your waitress laugh! I know because my friend is a waitress and she tells me of the people who come in her resturaunt and order these heart attacks on a plate meals with a DIET Coke. There used to be a time in this nations country when small drinks were the large drinks and a small fry was a large fry and 2,000 calorie based diet was really all you should eat. Well, look at this typical office worker-on-the-go menu and tell me what you think.

Breakfast: - NO TIME-Late!

Break - Office Bagel w/ cream cheese or worse yet - donuts at meeting
Black coffee

Lunch - Time for a power lunch! Jamba Juice original size with Burger King value meal.

After work Power UP! - The day is dragging and you need some caffeine so on your way home you drop by starbucks. Oooh, it's October! Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte and a crumble coffee cake. Don't forget to pick a couple drinks up for the kids!

Dinner - Everything has gone wrong! Your behind on the housework, you forgot to leave out the steak to thaw and your spouse is running late from work and has suggested picking up something. That's a relief to you cus lord knows you don't want to make a huge mess in the kitchen. How's a KFC Dinner pack, they asks. Sounds GOOD!

Late Night cravings - It's midnight and you are praying you'll have the rest of your work straightened away in an hour....if you're lucky. You take a 5 minute break from the hypnotic computer screen and find a beer and some BBQ Lays to snack on.

So how much of the 2000 calorie diet have you gone over???

Calorie Fat
Classic Coffee Cake 5.9 oz=167 g
640.0 31g

Mocha Frappuccino Blended Coffee - Whip Cream Grande, 16 fl oz=473 ml
420.0 16g

Western Bacon Cheeseburger 7.9 oz=225 g
660.0 30g

French Fries with Salt - Medium 4.1 oz=116 g
360.0 20g

Razzmatazz Smoothie - Original 25.8 oz=730 g
480.0 2g

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bagel 1 bagel, 4.0 oz=113 g
350.0 1g

Whipped Plain Cream Cheese 2 tbsp or 0.71 oz=20 g
2 servings: 140

Beer 12 fl oz=355 ml
153.1 0g

Calorie Balance: 3,201 consumed

KFC = biscuit (190), coleslaw (190), mashed potatoes(130), chicken thigh original recipe (360), large pepsi (180), popcorn chicken (369) = 1,419

GRAND TOTAL OF!!!!!! = 4,622 (that's with eating EVERYTHING listed, feel free to subtract items you wouldn't have in a single day.

I use http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_food.html to find all my calculations

Now I know this is exaggerated in that you aren't probably going to get fast food for lunch and then have fast food for dinner and still be hungry for a late night snack and Starbucks but have fun with this! Make a faux day of what you DO eat and see how many calories you are consuming.

The truth is, thinking Jamba Juice with a Bacon Mushroom Swiss from Carl's Jr. is a healthy alternative to Soda just plain isn't. Have a water instead...or here's a crazy concept - just have the Jamba Juice.

The funny thing about my ranting is that it is probably self defeating. The list of food is probably making more people hungry then enlightened! Oh well,go enjoy your 1/2 lb chicken stuffed Burrito with cinna twists, nachos and sourcreme with that DIET COLA!

Smoothies 4 LIFE!

I live and breathe Jamba Juice, but I've discovered this place called Robeks and it is a million tmes better! Or at least I think so. I always get the Orange Dream at Jamba and I ordered teh same exact drink at Robeks and it had HALF the calories and tasted like a 50/50 bar - you know the orange popsicles with cream centers. Anyhoo, I like them better because unlike Jamba they sale all their boost in powder and supplement form bottles. So you can purchase teh immunity boost in a huge container to put in your own homemade smoothies. Jamba needs to follow suit, this is a brilliant idea.

The Gym and Fast food Conspiracy

HA HA HA HAHA! God, I had one of those hypocritical moments today. I have been keeping my calories between 1200 and 1500 for weeks now! So I am doing great today when I get handed a coupon for free pizzal at Ray's Pizza and the starving College student came bursting out of me....FREEEE!!!!!!???? So I ate a slice of pizza and then went directly to my step class. All I keep thinking to myself is how dumb! What's the point of working out if I am just gonna eat pizza first. Well, I guess its better then eating the pizza after I get outta class. Does anyone ever notice that Gyms tend to be in shopping centers or directly next to resturants/ fast food places??? Not something like subway or a smoothie shop, but a grease joint. Like 24Hour Fitness looks like it has a Carl's Jr. attached to it for convinience like how Walmart has McDonalds inside. I wonder if it's like hot dogs and buns; they both make money off each other. Like Jr says "I get 'em fat for ya Bally's," and then Bally's replies "And when they get frustrated and discouraged I'll send them right back to ya." And then they both end in a wicked laugh that rings in unison "Muwahahahahahahah." Which reminds me of another rant. So my weekness is KFC Snackers - they have 320 calories and cost a dollar so i will break down every once in a while and by one. So the other day I am running late for work and I haven't eaten anything so I turn into KFC's drive thru and luck appears to be on my side as there was only one other car in the drive thru. The lady's back up lights come on so I back up thinking "Oh brother she didn't pull up close enough to the window." I am backed up so far that I can't see her. I wait for about five minutes and I start edging up onto her bumper trying to see what was going on. The lady keeps putting her head out the window and then she reaches out her hand with money. I'm thinking "She hasn't even paid yet???? What the hell is goin on?" Finally she pulls up to the next window and I pull up to the first window to see that it is closed. That woman sat infront of a closed empty window for five minutes! Then she gets out of her car and starts grabbing the food. Bags of it. Like enough to feed two families, and she's grabbing the drinks. The worker is like "what are you doing? Are you sure you grabbed your food? (cus now there is a line of people in the drive thru whose food has probably been ready for the last five minutes)" and she nods and hands over the money and drives away. I pull up and low and behold that stupid idiot took my food! So I had to wait aother couple of minutes for a damn snacker! To top it all off I was late and I got stuck with HER drink (cus she took mine)....DIET COKE! I hate diet soda. Someone explain to me why people are so stupid that they can't handle a simple task like pulling up to the SECOND window???? --Sue ps. God, I am all sorts of bitter today

so true

I have something that I have been going to post about diet products mainly diet soda . There is a much more serious reason to avoid such things like diet soda and I do believe I will post that so that if your post doesn't register with people maybe mine and yours together will do something. Health and fitness don't just happen- a person has to work hard for it but the rewards are well worth it. Every pound you gain is just one more you will have to lose and losing pounds is much more difficult than gaining them.

They've come for me!

Oh God, I could weep carrot juices of joy.

No Jamba? Au contraire...

Plenty of JJ locations in NYC, and elsewhere in the East. From their Web site: "Jamba Juice has locations in the following United States: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. We also have locations in the District of Columbia, and opened our first international location in the Bahamas in Marina Village at the Atlantis Resort." Thirst no more...

Saw a good one today you

Saw a good one today you might like. I was thinking of posting it myself but I'm too lazy and I thought I'd just tag on to yours. In the cafeteria today a rather heavy woman grabs the grilled chicken sandwich. Good choice! She then waddles over to the cooler and gets a diet soda. Not bad! Then as she's making her way back through the cafeteria she stops off for french fries...at which point she stands there for a moment, pondering...and gets inion rings too. WTF?

Jamba juice? If only I lived

Jamba juice? If only I lived in LA I would probably move into a Jamba juice store. We don't have those on the East Coast. :( Yeah, I'm thirsty now, thanks a lot Sue!
