Do your job!
posted November 3, 2009 - 6:22pmI am SO tired of knowing that the taxpayers who are actually paying in taxes and not sticking their hands out are paying a man to sit around in an airplane and NOT do his job.
President Obama, you'll never read this, but I am NOT  a fan. You're the "President" big whoop! Act like it! You have a JOB to do. YOUR job is to ensure that the Constitution and all it's laws are adhered to. You are NOT supposed to galavant across the world on Taxpayers' dimes to campaign for Chicago's Olympics bid. You are NOT supposed to ignore your generals on the ground in Afghanistan and other places. You are NOT supposed to take away our rights as human beings and American Citizens.
You are a contract employee. You may be locked in for the next 3 years 2 months, but that is not a guaranteee that you will be there after January 20, 2013. Your attempt to take your personality and sell more democrats into office is a poor choice. It is NOT your job! If those two democrats in New Jersey and Virginia want to win, they need to do things better. If they do not they will not be elected.
If you, Mr. "President," don't start doing your job, what do you think will happen to you? I guarantee the same thing that happens to all losers. Eventually people get wise and stop listening to the losers who would much rather carry you over mud puddles than the voice of reason.
Entitlement? Reparations? PLEASE! I'm Irish! We were treated poorly. The Chinese stood alongside the Irish and built the railroad systems. I want my money too! I want to join NAACP, and get money from the NEGRO College Fund. I think that if I'm excluded because of race it is racism. If I am excluded because of gender, thats sexism. Do your job and unite this country. Your words divide it. Your actions show empowerment to a race, not a nation. Empower the nation, not your special little club. I am not responsible for my neighbor, and my neighbor is not responsible for the plight of Africans who were stolen and brought to the United States when it was young. Cry me a river then get your butt out there and pull the salt from the water and sell it for a buck or two. Enterprise, opportunity, THOSE are the things that made this country great. NOT giving in to terrorists, trying to play patty cake with dictators, and alienating those who have shown their most valorous support. Shame on you for your lack of decorum.
Articulation and good reading do not make a good President. Charm and good looks don't make a good President. A good President is the man who will take care of his (HIS) country, and stop coddling the other countries. I would surmise by your actions that you actually blame the USA for the 9/11 attacks that tore our nation up. I would surmise that WWII was somehow our fault in your eyes, as was the Viet Nam conflict and the conflicts in Venezuela and Columbia. We are responsible for what happens today. Our generation is NOT responsible for the actions of ancestors who lived in the 1700's or 1800's. There is no slavery. You are proof that color barriers do not exist.
I want you and your cronies to stop telling everyone that you won by a landslide. 6% is NOT a landslide. That means out of 100 votes you got 6 more than your opponent. How is that a landslide? I don't CARE if you like the Constitution. Many hundreds of thousands of people have given their lives so YOU could be President and defended the very document you want to set fire.
Shame on you, "President" Obama. You are not doing your job. You're wasting more and more of our money and you are enabling the worst of the worst in your cabinet, your advisors, your Congress, to ruin our country. Or, is that your agenda? You are NOT helping anyone out. You are NOT acting Presidential. You are acting like a spoiled child that will cry if he does not get his way. You are NOT acting like the Commander in Chief of all the armed forces. You're letting our finest and bravest get blown away because of your inaction.
DO YOUR JOB!!! Or get out of the way and let someone else take it.

I enjoyed "talking" to you
Well, I think our hearts are in the same place and I hope things get better for us all. However, being somewhat of a pessimist, I think darker days may lie ahead. (that reminds me, the 2012 movie is coming out soon). Hopefully I'm totally wrong and the future will be bright.
P.S. Best wishes to you. I think you and I would actually like each other "in real life". Take care.
I agree wtih you Kate...
I agree wtih you Kate--he will never read any of our remarks about him. If he could, I don't think it would change what he does, but one never knows. It could be that he would think about it and wonder, and maybe just maybe he would see the light.
Oh well, that is just wishful thinking on my part.
Take care.
Johnny
I forgot something
I forgot to say I have seen "Dave" and it is a great movie. I would love that kind of caring person in charge, one who quit spending money on Ketchup studies and started spending it on things that actually help the country.
Caring and respect are two aspects of the Presidency that I would love to see. President Obama should have had his butt over there in Germany today. President Obama should have visited France when he was invited and not snubbed them. President Obama needs a lesson on Iran and the way they handle the soft approach to their tactics (see Jimmy Carter's Presidecy). President Obama is naive. I don't even know how much American History he's learned, having been taught in countries outside our borders. Indonesia, I think?
I believe that he is unaware of what I want, and I believe that those who are also in Washington are playing the man to get their own private agendas fulfilled. I do not think President Obama is a bad person. I do think that Rahm Emanuel and Axelrod are not nice people.
FOX news is not the enemy, and I cannot listen to Rush OR Rachel, Hannity OR Olberman because when they start their insulting and sarcastic tones I just tune them out. The smarty pants looks on Rachel's face and Olberman's attitude are ridiculous. News people don't make snide remarks.
So, I try to listen to what I can for as long as I can and hope to glean my own conclusions from all the left/right up/down that is our country, our media and our government.
You may be reasonable, and you sound such, I can be reasonable, and open minded as well. It is truly people like you and me who should control what the government does. They should not be controlling what we do.
Thanks for your replies.

Astute evaluation
No I am not a Michael Moore fan. I am the total opposite. I quietly and personally boycott his movies. I did watch "Supersize Me" where the guy lived on McDonalds for 30 days and ruined his health.
I believe we need health care reform. I don't believe the government knows what I want and need better than I do.
The problem is that they've gotten too big for their britches and they forgot that they are employees instead of in charge. Their job is to create rules and laws to protect us from security threats, not from the common cold.
It's a good thing to have a reasonable discussion with a dissenting opinion. No rants here!

Hello Kate, With regards to
Hello Kate,
With regards to Health Care, does your opinion mean that you are not a Michael Moore Fan?
The Prez
I think the problem is not that he might be doing his job it is the perception that he is not.
You seem reasonable, I bet you can agree that if a person goes around doing things that most of us would not consider their job, and we see no results within their responsibilities that the job is not being handled.
Part of the problem with being President is that he is not the leader, he's the representative. That is a misconception, he may be Commander in Chief, and he may be able to give ideas to the Congress, but he is part 1 of three branches of the US Government who is there to take care of what keeps us safe. We do not work for the President. He works for us. Obama is the face of the United States. It's a very nice face, with a great smile and a warm personality. But to be Commander in Chief, to be President takes more than a great handshake and a friendly demeanor.
I figured if I shouted and screamed at you that you would be retaliatory and discussions don't happen that way. I figured if I'm tired of listening to the rhetoric on the radio and television then you may be as well. I believe that if the President wants us to believe he's actually doing his job then he needs to keep his side-gigs on the down-low and his actually responsibilities need to be highlighted by the media.
Again, because I'm obnoxious, I believe the perception of him not doing his job will continue to harm him.
AND..... I do NOT like the Health Care "reform" Bill in any of it's forms. It is an imposition on the American People that we did not vote for. Reform what is there, provide more options within the process. Don't FORCE me into a program. I don't want their welfare.
(sorry, just had to say it. LOL).

Hello again and thanks for
Hello again and thanks for your polite reply. I do agree that vacations for a president should never be taken during war time and maybe not at all since there are always problems to be worked on in the country. However, I still believe that many people including yourself are just too critical of this new president and expect too much too soon. I also believe that most presidents have one hand tied behind there back all the time. After all, their ideas (no matter how well intentioned) cannot be implemented unless they're agreed upon in congress. We never seem to get much "change" because there are many who like things just the way they are. Being the mediator for an entire country filled with so many points of view is the most difficult job one could have. I believe he IS listening to us, he just keeps running into one brick wall after another when trying to get things done. As far a reckless spending goes, we all know the U.S. government is notorious for wasteful/excessive spending which has been going on for countless decades. Have you ever seen the movie "DAVE" starring Kevin Kline (from 1993). My favorite scene is this budget meeting when he points out how we could be saving money here and there. I think if the U.S. would stop wasting so much money here and there, we wouldn't be talking about how much this or that is costing us. On a final note, we don't know what President Obama is doing every moment of the day. To imply that he's not "doing his job" is very subjective.
Thanks!
Thank you for your comments. Opposing comments are welcome, as long as they are not attacking the author, and you only sort-of did.
Isn't it great that we can live in a country (as of today) that I can say what I want about someone who is a contract employee paid and hired by Americans, and you can disagree with me?
America is a GREAT country, and I just want it to stay that way.
Thank you for your compliment on the writing. I do appreciate that, as well as your comments.
I happen to personally like Obama. He seems like a good dad, he's young enough to know what the average person wants, I just don't believe he's hearing or listening to us.
Kate :-)

I must be living in a parallel universe
Sad, indeed!
My only hope is that enough people can see my allusions carefully placed in each of the articles that I write.
When you read James Madison you'll see them pretty blatant, since you have a brain.
Thanks again for reading my blogs. That makes me feel very fulfilled. I write so others can read, and maybe learn something. Also, like with you, I learn things too!
