The Dodo Birds were flightless birds and inhabitants of the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. The Dodo belongs to the the pigeon family. It is recorded that fully grown Dodos weighted about 23 kg . In the Year 1505 following the Portuguese occupation of this virgin Island the natural species faced the human and animal threat . Unfortunately By 1681 Dodos had been driven to extinction by humans , dogs, pigs, rats, and other aliens brought by the Europeans to Mauritius.This is only one side of the story. The extinction of rare animal and bird species has become a common phenomenon due to the cannibalistic nature of the most predominant species of the universe.
