I don’t care about Obama’s Mama

I don’t care about Obama’s Mama

The other day someone sent me a link to a web site that displayed the naked black-and-white pictures of a fine-looking young woman who was alleged to be… Obama’s mother. Oops!

My first reaction was one of shock and disbelief. Could this be real? Could this be true? I mean, the attractive woman in the photos did look like his mother, truth be told.

We live in the age of the Mighty Photoshop and any photo can be manipulated in any way. I’m aware of that as well. But the resemblance was still uncanny.

After the first wave of shock subsided, I was overcome by a feeling of sadness.

“What the politics has come to in this country?” I started to meditate. Obviously, some people would not stop at anything to smear others with any kind of mud they can get their hands on.

As soon as that thought subsided, another thought bubble arose: But what if the photos were true? What if Obama’s mother had those photos taken as a “pin-up model,” perhaps to make a little money on the side, or just to satisfy an adventurous dark corner of her soul, or just for the hell of it?!

With that thought, I arrived at another realization that put the final period for me in this matter:

Even if that was so, why should I care? Am I electing Obama’s mama for President come this November 4th or the young senator from Illinois himself?

Am I going to vote to get this country out of the mess it’s in right now or to judge and punish somebody for what his mother might or might not have done half a century ago?

If I can forgive the youthful indiscretion of Sarah Palin’s daughter and instead turn my attention to Palin’s deeds and words, why should I use a different standard when it comes to Obama and his mama?

That’s why I hereby declare that I don’t care about Obama’s Mama and, yes, I approved this message.

just like the rest of the world...

I can see that familiy morals have totally been done away with in this country. He was a married man, the leader of our nation and an adulterer. What kind of signal does that send to our youth. I don't want my children growing up think it is OK or socially acceptable to behave in that manner. And niether would anyone with one ounce of morals or that it's OK to abuse our positions, have extra-marital affairs, etc. Our country has gone to hell in a handbasket. And many people here don't even seem to care. Pitiful.

A Palin in the Butt!

It's human nature to look for flaws and politically expedient when you're behind in the polls (in some lesser principled camps). I hope Obama's more principled, less desperate tactic works (that's an understatement). Apart from a right wing bias, there could be no other reason Palin hasn't been panned more in the press. The same re McCain's ancient age. The Palin woman is a real nightmare. She's represents everything that we outside the US can't understand about the country. She exemplifies red neck, bigotry, fascist, creationist, everyone for themselves attitudes. Not long now though... and as you never can tell really (despite excellent leads in most polls) the outcome of the election is becoming more and more worrying. If McCain is elected it will be distasterous for the whole wide world. Still worse, should the old man die and Palin take over (this is worth a bet) it won't be long - the end of the world could be very near.

its just political agenda

its just political agenda against Obama.I dont at all believe in that naked picture story

True

And Bill Clinton's problem was not the act itself, but the fact that he committed perjury trying to cover it up. If he had fessed up, there would have been no impeachment. Yeah, that's true. I would have respected him more if he had had either just "fessed up"...or just told the American people that his personal sex life was not anyone's business business but his, and his wife's, own. But what I really want to know is, what would JFK have thought about public farting? I'm sure he would have approved. He had a good sense of humor. :)

Of course,

they also don't care if their politicians have rock-star appeal and can pack a football stadium for a speech, like Obama does. I don't care, either. Like you say, I just want an effective leader. I've heard that Europeans are amused that Americans are obsessed with having leaders who have "charisma," while they look for people who are what you say... effective but mabe even boring leaders. I doubt we'll see the U.S. elect practical leaders like they do in Europe--Helmut Kohl, anyone? The U.S. is always looking for someone to be the next JFK... young, dashing, inspiring speaker, etc. And Bill Clinton's problem was not the act itself, but the fact that he committed perjury trying to cover it up. Well, people in other

Well, people in other countries shouldn't be laughing, because they've had their own, even more absurd "issues" ... like whether a German chancellor dyed his hair, or a French leader had plastic surgery. That may all be true. All I know is, from the Europeans I know, that they don't judge their qualifications to be leaders the same way we do here. They don't care if a president cops a rim job from an intern. As long as he/she is an effective leader, why should they?

At least he's young

and in shape. An old man's naked chest? No thanks, no matter what party he belongs to

Or Obamas biceps...

Or Obamas biceps...

Laughing stock politicians

Well, people in other countries shouldn't be laughing, because they've had their own, even more absurd "issues" ... like whether a German chancellor dyed his hair, or a French leader had plastic surgery. And there's the controversy over leaders like Sarkozy and Putin who like to be photographed with their shirts off... We should be glad we don't have to open the newspaper and see photos of John McCain's pecs.

I couldn't have said that

I couldn't have said that any better myself. Great post!
