Don Imus Back on the Radio Dec. 3 on WABC Radio; Curtis and Kuby Out
posted November 2, 2007 - 9:40amRadio shock jock Don Imus will be back on the airwaves December 3rd, just half a year after he was sacked for making racist and sexist remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team on the air.
Imus was fired from his old job at CBS radio; his new home will be WABC Radio 770 AM in New York, from 6 to 10 a.m. The show will be syndicated nationally on the ABC radio network.
Imus's show will replace the popular 'Curtis and Kuby in the Morning' show, which currently airs from 5 to 10 a.m. and is a top-rated morning news/talk radio show. Curtis Sliwa (founder of the Guardian Angels safety patrol) is to the right side of the political spectrum; Ron Kuby is a left wing attorney who has handled many high-profile civil rights cases. It seems that the Curits and Kuby show will no longer be on the air, though WABC's Web site doesn't make that clear.
Don Imus will be reportedly paid somewhere around $5 million to do his new show.
